5 out of 5 stars xbox 360 Arcade   August 3, 2010
Travis Manley (sequim, wa)
I mainly stick to PC gaming because I have a hard time spending more than $150-$200 on consoles. There have been a few games that came out recently that I either didn't want to wait for a crappy PC port or that were never going to come to the PC, so I finally sucked it up and got one of these.

I got a great deal on a used one of these for $100. I have put about ten hours on it and it works great. I was also able to find a used 60GB HD for about $35, so I was able to keep it under $150.

My only complaint so far is that you cannot use an HDMI cable and the composite audio cables at the same time because the audio/video cable is so fat it covers the HDMI port. An oversight by Microsoft, or a clever way to make you spent more on a "special" cable that lets you use both?

It would be great if there was an easier way of transferring data to your PC for backup without having to buy an additional cable.

Overall very happy with the deal I got on this.

3 out of 5 stars Replacement for my original 360 that just died   July 24, 2010

I just picked this up last night at Best Buy for $149.99. My Xbox got the E74 error a couple days ago. It already froze once and had to get it fixed for $80, so I figured that it was pretty much done.

I swapped my old 20gb hdd and also got the 2 year warranty from BB (just in case) for $49.99. I figured if anything goes wrong. I can just take it to the store and swap it for a new one (if it comes to that).

It seems to be a little more quiet than my old one and the power brick is definitely smaller. Overall this is a good buy for replacing your old broken system. Not sure it's a good value without a hard drive and the heating problems that come with the older 360 models. It might be better to invest in the newer slim model if you're a first time buyer.

We'll see how long the life of this system will be. Only time will tell.

5 out of 5 stars XBOX 360 SPRING BUNDLE (From a PS3 User)   July 23, 2010
Benigno Alcantara
Being a PS3 owner, I decided to take advantage of the recent price reduction and try it, to my surprise this is a superb system, open structure, which means you can work with it softwarewise and get lot more out of it!
The only drawback if compared to PS3 would be the lack of Blu Ray and the Hardisk (optional).

My experience so far has been surprisingly amazing, I have come to love this system, I will briefly make list some attributes using the (+) and (-) approach; again I have been using PS for over 10 years, I am currently using both systems and
Today I must admit that XBOX is as good as PS3 and that the Microsoft OS has amazed me, I am now in love with this console!

(+)
-Faster games load times.
-Software interface and menus are superb!! Ergonomic and Fun to browse!
-System Initial set up was fast, fun and fully customizable
-Games are as good or better; These inmediately captivated me: Gears of War 1 & 2, Modern Warfare, Halo,
Split Second, Lost Planet 2...plus many more, all are great!!

(-)
-Need to pay to play online (Cost is low but I still think that charging for xbox live sucks)
-Controller needed battery pack because the one included was defective and did not work properly.
