Dragon Age a must-have for RPG fans
For all of you whom read our site or listen to the podcast, you know that we don’t do reviews for any games that we play. We just don’t….its not our style. However, when a truly excellent game comes along I feel compelled to tell you guys my true opinion of it. Dragon Age: Origins is one of those truly excellent games!
If you have any fiber of RPG interest in your bones, then you must buy and play Dragon Age! If you want to play a game that completely immerses you in its world and wraps you up in its story then this is it. Bioware has truly proven to us again why they are one of best, if not the best, RPG game creators in the world. It takes a specific formula to create the perfect game and an even more precise one to create the perfect role playing game, but Bioware has truly done it!
After years of speculation and waiting for Dragon Age, fans can finally breathe a sigh of relief. This game is truly a masterpiece that will be enjoyed for years to come! To me what makes Dragon Age stand out, even above Demon’s Souls which is awesome by the way, is its story! There is so much detail, so much history and each character is woven into the land of Ferelden as if the place truly exists. It sucks you in and trust me you will not want to come back out until you have uncovered all of the secrets that your character possesses! Its freakin crazy…I’m telling you!
The voice acting is superb making all the characters invade your mind like a poison. And when you’ve finally beaten the game I can say with a 100% certainty that you will want to play the game all over again as a different character class. There is so much to explore and discover here that it can be almost overwhelming at times. Weapons, armor and magic spells are quite varied and plentiful giving you the proper tools to conquer the kick butt combat that Dragon Age offers you.
Controlling your party members is a bit of a challenge, but a good one once you’ve mastered it. You will definitely need to learn how to use strategy as the enemies become tougher and smarter as the game progresses. The magic spells and abilities of the Mage are very nicely done and the types of spells to discover and learn are quite impressive at times.
Overall, this is just an incredible game that has so much to offer to all whom will embrace it! Kudos to Bioware for not disappointing, but instead giving us a good kick in the pants and showing us that there is more to a game than just sniping heads or climbing rocky cliffs!
