The new look Prince!

I have always been a fan of the Prince of Persia series and its good to see the Prince finally making the leap to next-gen consoles! Sporting a whole new look, Prince of Persia looks to redefine the series in a totally new and innovative way and I don’t think gamers will be disappointed! Ubisoft, the makers of Assassin’s Creed, has utilized the proprietary Anvil engine to create a whole new adventure for us to embark on as the good ole Prince and along the way have also given the series new life. Taking over 3 years to make, Prince of Persia has been created using cell-shaded character models giving both them and the environments a beautiful and unique definition while holding to the original Prince of Persia gameplay concepts.

This new look creates a truly different feel and gives more life to the Prince and his surroundings! I will admit that I have kept a close eye on this game since its announced forthcoming and was a bit skeptical at first when I learned of this change, but now that the game is finally here I can’t wait to get my hands on it. Another very distinct and important change to Prince of Persia is the addition of open world gameplay! In the past, the games were mostly linear with no real free-roaming environments, but now the use of the open-ended game world will play a vital role in the Prince’s adventures! You the gamer will ultimately decide how you want the storyline to play out by roaming the open world and choosing your decisions within it! This is huge step in the right direction for this series and one of the most exciting aspects about the game!

All of the Prince’s old attributes will be present in the game, but with some new twists and a new sidekick that will assist you on your journey! A beautiful girl named Elika will accompany you offering her assistance with many aspects of the gameplay from acrobatics and puzzle-solving to combat! She will truly prove her worth and will help give the game a new feel. Speaking of combat, the game sticks with traditional techniques, but Ubisoft has re-vamped the combat system giving the Prince a cool new bag of tricks to unleash on the enemies known as the Corruption! It has been a long-time coming for this next-gen version of Prince of Persia, but I believe the wait will have been well worth it! Come this Tuesday, ancient Egypt will never look better and the Prince will be looking for a fight! Visit our gameattic store to get your copy and please give me your thoughts on the game once you’ve played it!

I really think that this game is gonna surprise some people. The last few titles released on the PS2 were lack-luster at best, but I think that this game is gonna be a re-invention of the Prince of Persia series! Can't wait to check it out…..and the graphics are freakin cool looking!
