Let the shell shooting begin!
Lost in the shadow of the release of GTAIV this week was Nintendo Wii’s version of one the all time classics Mario Kart. Growing up I used to spend weekends with a friend of mine and we would have the most intense Mario Kart battles known to man. We spent hours and hours pummeling each other from one map to the other. Back then, we had the Super Nintendo version, which was awesome, and a tiny television sitting on the night stand, but that didn’t stop us from letting those turtle shells fly. Oh those days….good stuff! Anyway, nowadays we have 50 inch plasma’s and state of the art gaming systems to fill our gaming minds with joy and a totally re-vamped Mario Kart to keep us up all night. The Wii’s version introduces two very cool amenities that I so wish we had back in the day. The new Wii wheel revolutionizes the Mario Kart experience. Now, you can drive your characters all over the place with your own wireless steering wheel! How cool is this thing? No matter whether your standing, sitting or laying down you can flawlessly steer your favorite Mario world character to victory Sure as heck beats trying to steer with that tiny little D-pad and having your thumb constantly slipping off. My friend used to make me pay for that kind of mistake time and time again, but I would have smoked him with this thing! The Wii wheel allows you to do everything from jumping, flipping, diving, skidding, side-swiping, crashing or just plain hauling it around track. This will definitely make those late night battles feel even more intense. The second addition for Mario Kart Wii is the addition of online multi-player. Now, this is one I really wish we had back then because my friend and I would’ve smoked anyone one of you! Well, probably not but now that online play has been added people from all over the globe can battle one another for supremacy. These features make Mario Kart Wii one game that you definitely don’t want to miss out on. So, grab your Wii wheel, gather your family and friends, order some pizza, sit back and enjoy those heated battles into the Wii hours and let the shell shooting and wheel spinning begin Mario Kart style!
